Sinead Roy has been homeschooling since 1998. Her older children have completed college and her youngest is enjoying a self-directed education at home. Sinead’s passion is to help other parents homeschool their children.

Sinead is a board member of AQED and is available to help set up your student learning plan, evaluate your portfolio. and accompany you to ministry meetings.  She conducts online book clubs and budgeting classes for reluctant math students. Sinead also provides private 1-on-1 tutoring sessions online.

Sinead has several degrees in music and education including a postgraduate and an MA from Dublin University, and a teaching diploma from Trinity College, London, the international examination board for performing arts and English language. She has held professional teacher qualifications in Ireland, Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia. She is also a Google Certified Educator Level 1 and 2 Teacher, a certified Duolingo Teacher and Quizlet Teacher.

Angie

Homeschooling since 1996, Angie Meklenschek has covered every grade with her children. Using the realization that there are more ways to learn than through a textbook alone, Angie incorporates all forms of media into her tutoring and teaching process to ensure student mastery of the subject. Angie has been a homeschooling parent for over 20 years, and tutor for over 10 years; tutoring for grades 2-9 specializing in core subjects, time management, and test preparedness.

Introducing our newest team member – Christine Laurent – also know as the educator and artisan at “Dawn of Imagination”. Christine has an MA in Clinical Psychology, specializing in children and adolescents, She has taught university classes and helped run the Stats Lab for undergraduate students needing assistance. Christine is well known in homeschool co-ops and libraries throughout the greater Montreal region where she and her daughter, Dawn, run workshops on STEAM topics. Both Christine and Dawn will be joining us in September 2019 for a variety of Minecraft educational and tech-related online courses.
